The Road to Virtue

We just decided on a camp theme today. It's the Road to Virtue. We are
thinking about having the wards be different types of cars...Ford:
Faithful or Righteous Daughters, VW: Virtuous Women, GM: Great
Missionaries Dodge: Daughter of Deity Great Examples etc.
We will have a service station (time where we will do service). We want to
have an evening activity maybe call it "The Cruise" where each girl will
have their own "box" car and then they will travel on "The Road to Virtue"
where there will be a "Pit Stop" where a mechanic will talk to them about
"tools" to keep them running right, Construction Zone: Flagger can warn them
of trials and instruct them to follow the Holy Ghost; Speed Limit: Time
management in meeting their goals, Reading the Owner's Manual: How to make
the most out of their scripture reading; Car Wash: Repentance, Mile Marker:
Are you living a virtuous life? Am I where I'm suppose to be? Railroad
Crossing: How Satan will cross their paths and how to keep them safe from
His train; Tune up time: Music time or how good music can uplift.
Rest stop: Time to rest/sleep?
Start Your Engines: Morning Scripture study/Journal writing
Street signs will name their camping areas
Billboards: Mormonads
Drive-in Movie: A church movie shown with popcorn and punch
Highway Patrol: Leaders giving them tickets for catching them in the
act of ding nice things
Pilot Cars (leaders) leading them to testimony place.
Update
- Just wanted to share what our junior leaders came up with this evening at
our camp meeting. We gave them the Hymn # 225
We are Marching On To Glory
and asked them to change lyrics to go with our theme. This is what they came
up with (They decided they would only do two verses). The Title Now
Reads:
WE ARE DRIVING ON TO VIRTUE
We are driving on to Virtue; We are working for our cup
We will make our paint job brighter And never let it rust.
We are driving, driving on ward to that great fin-ish line
We work for life eternal; It is our guiding sign.
Then race by race we are speeding; to heaven we are bound
Each good lap brings us nearer That home where we'll be crowned
We are driving, driving on ward To that Great fin-ish line
We work for life eternal; It is our guiding sign.
