3 Get to know you Games

Game 1
:  Put 15 or so pennies in a bag.  Pass the bag around the group and each person draws a penny out (do this at first so everyone has a chance to think).  Then tell something that happened to you in that year.  I loved this game because we had moms talking about their high school years, which the younger sisters could really relate to since they just left high school.  And some people found out that they had things in common from their past that they didn't know about.  Also we heard about some trials that sisters don't usually talk about but it was good for them to talk and helped us get to know them better.

Game 2:  Put 15 random objects in a bag.  Same concept - pass around the bag and people pick one and tell how it relates to them.  Or you could have them make up an object lesson for a church class they might have to teach using the item - relate it to some gospel principle.  This is fun - it's amazing how creative people can get about the most mundane things like a wrench or a boot or a piece of chalk, and everyone gets to teach sometime even if it's Family Home Evening in their own home.

Game 3: Go around the room and everyone tells their favorite scripture, character or story from the scriptures.  Could limit it to the Book of Mormon since everyone should be reading that before the end of the year.  If they can't think of a scripture, a hymn or primary song would work too.  Or favorite General Authority.  Have them tell why it's their favorite.
