Before each General Conference, I make a tic-tac-toe board with the name of each member of the quorum of the twelve and the prophet and counselors in the boxes (one name in each box = 15 boxes).  Then I tape a piece of candy on each square. When each person speaks my children have to listen and write down what the topic was. After that they can eat the candy on that square while they listen to the rest of the talk. This time we left a square with a question mark for them to fill in the new apostle.  (Idea by Euroca Marrott / ga04032008

I was looking for a quiet activity for Conference for my two young children (2 & 4).  So I went to www.lds.org and searched past "Friends" for coloring pages. Each months issue has a coloring page you can print from the computer. I printed about 10 different pages to make a quiet coloring book with gospel pictures for my children.  (Idea by Nicole / ga03302008) - (As an FYI, you can also find all the coloring pages from the Friend indexed here.)
Numbered Chairs by Kristen Mayle - great idea for a Young Women's Activity to Review General Conference
Prophet Party by Jeanni Gould - Although this activity was done with the Young Women, it could be adapted for many different purposes.

General Conference Candy Bar Wrappers
(1), (2), (3)
Mini candy Bar Wrappers (from lds.about.com) -
use mini candy wrappers of the Latter-day Apostles to test your children's knowledge and if they get it right (or are really close) they win the chocolate bar. There is one for each of the 15 LDS Apostles, both with and without their names (which would be on the bottom of the bar), as well as a sheet of all 15. General Conference Bingo Card made by Lynda Whitlock - made to be sent home by Primary Presidency as a way to encourage your children to watch General Conference.  Lynda writes: I like this card because it is in color AND reflects the theme for this year.  This is such a great time to find the really small bags of M&Ms for the children to use as markers.

Blessings and Promises by Lynda Whitlock - This simple handout reinforces the CSMP theme with the teachings the children heard in the October 2006 General Conference.  Using a variation in fonts, even the youngest Primary children can be successful in matching the promise to the blessing.
Conference Baskets by Sharee Zirker - a great idea to help small children feel involved in Conference and a neat family tradition.

Conference Sharing Time

Conference Sharing Time by Jessica Skinner
In general conference, living prophets teach me that blessings are promised when I choose the right.
It occurred to me that it would be fun to make a TV box with the paper scrolls to display the topics covered during general conference. The senior primary may be able to name who gave the talk. Make sure to take good conference notes.  (Idea by Colleen Jones / ga03012008)
