Have the necessary items ready to use in the activity, including the word strips. You may wish to give the word strips to class members, and, as you name a particular "ingredient," have the class member holding that word strip bring it to the table and place it in the
mixing bowl.

Put on the apron and hat, if you have one, and act out the following recipe using the large bowl, mixer, spoon or spatula, and ingredients (word strips). As you mix, say the following:

These are the ingredients for a heavenly home.  First, at the very beginning, invite the Holy Ghost to your home to stay.

Crush Temptations and Sin and set them aside outside the bowl.
Blend in one Temple Marriage, one Mother (who loves Dad), one Dad (who loves Mother).
Gradually add Children.
Quickly stir in Living the Gospel: Scripture Study, Prayer, and Meeting Attendance.
Sprinkle liberally with Courtesy and Communication.
Garnish with the Word of Wisdom: Exercise, Proper Diet, and Rest.
Pour Love over everything.
Serve with Unselfishness.

When you have finished with the ingredients, uncover the cookies or other food that you prepared before class. Let each class member take one. Tell them that just as the good taste of the cookies (or candy, etc.) can last, the success in a marriage can last forever if
the ingredients are all included.

Additional Comments by Melinda George (ga09062007) - I'd use a good cookie recipe, preferably Chocolate Chip which most agree are desirable, or maybe Brownies. I'd use the flour for the Holy Ghost, and try to pour the flour in way way high above the big bowl so it "poofed" all white and made a cloud. Then I'd crack the eggs (or have them) for the sin and temptation. Mom and Dad are the White and Brown Sugar. :). Children the Baking Powder which rise everything and change the chemistry, lol... hmmn maybe your shouldn't say that, :). Maybe they should be the oatmeal? lol.  You might make Scripture Study and prayer the flavoring... Butter is Gospel Living, and of Course Chocolate Chips are LOVE! The other dry ingredients are the other things...got this recipe for Cowboy Cookies from Kathryn, but I've been making these since my kids were small, we just called them Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Cowboy Cookies

2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
1 cup shortening
6 ounces chocolate chips
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups rolled oats
1 tsp vanilla
½ - 1 cup coconut

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Cook 12- 15 minutes at 350º F. If you don't overcook them they tend to stay chewy and oh so good.  We add raisins sometimes (I like to soak them first, so they aren't as dry).
