Is your faith sufficient?

Get a banana that is ripe, but not too ripe. Some small brown spots are good.  Get a long thin needle or pin like a corsage pin. Look at the side of the banana where there is kind of like a seam or "corner" where you can put the banana down on it's side and it won't show. Carefully stick the pin in along this seam and move it up and down under the skin to slice the banana. Bring the pin right up to the inside of the skin, but be careful not to scratch it because it will show on the outside. Space them about 1/2 inch apart up and down the seam so you get 7 or 8 slices. When you put it down make sure to face that side to the back. You can talk about having faith in many things like parents, bishops, teachers, leaders, themselves, etc, then lead them to asking if they have faith in you, enough to believe that this banana is sliced inside. Then cut off the top and either peel it or have one of them peel it. You could give a handout in the shape of a banana with a scripture about faith on it, and have a treat of banana nut cookies. I have used this several times in lessons over the years, and when they want to know how it is done, I always tell them I will only divulge my secret if they promise to use it in a FHE lesson.  You might want to practice a time or two, and have the bananas on your cereal in the morning.
