Non-Traditional Shower Idea

My daughter just got married last week and I just wanted to share what we did with you. She did not want the traditional Bridal Shower. She wanted a family oriented "Wedding' Shower. We invited entire families. We set up horseshoes and Crocket Game in yard for tournaments between the families. We did a grill our with The Father of the Bride and Father of the Groom in charge of the grill. We had fruit trays, vegetable trays, homemade pies and cakes , several varieties of salads including macaroni, potato, broccoli, garden salad. It turned out great with about 77 people attending. We allowed 1 hour for the grill out, 1 hour for the games then we called everyone in for the gift opening and gave prizes to families with highest points in the games. We gave DVD's and microwave popcorn.
