I want to do a scavenger hunt at the grocery store.  We will need to divide into groups with one adult per group. I will get a store directory for each group. I haven't decided if I want the girls to find items on a list, or...if they should be given a food group (ie grains) and find three things in that food group that they like or would like to try, and what aisle they found it.

Wow... The girls really loved it! Time ran out fast for them and we will have a discussion and healthful smoothies next week. Here are the list of questions I used. Of course, it will need to be adjusted according to your grocery store and group. The hardest part for one group was agreeing on a snack for the group. The list for each group needs to be in different order, so they will not be in the same isle at the same time. Also, ask for a store directory for each group at the courtesy desk.

7.Name a fruit juice brand that has no added sugar? How much is it?

8.Which is more expensive today? Frozen strawberries or fresh?

9.Who is the manager of the meat department?

10.Which has more iron? Rice Krispies or Multi-grain Cheerios?

11.Find and name three kinds of baby food with meat in it.

12."All wholesome herbs" are for the "use of man". How many different herbs and spices does "Spice Classics" have on the shelves. How many are herbs? **

13.Compare a chocolate peanut butter energy bar with Reese's Peanut Butter cups. How much total fat is in each?
