Here are some activity ideas based around Thanksgiving/Gratitude.
If you have others you would like to add,
e-mail them to me.

Gratitude baskets - Each girl brought a dozen cookies, brownies, etc...I bought some baskets and they each made a basket of goodies for someone that they wanted to thank. They wrote a nice letter of appreciation to send with the basket. (Idea by Cindy)

Thanksgiving Activity - First we are going to talk about manners. Then they are going to learn how to set a table correctly. After that we are going to make a Thanksgiving Blessing mix. They will each take one home. I am going to line up the ingredients on the counter. They will fill their cellophane baggie with these ingredients. After all the ingredients are in the bag.  They will close the bag and attach the ingredients and the meaning.  I already have it typed up on cute Thanksgiving paper.  (Idea by Jaime Bond)

Blessings Mix

Our Thanksgiving Activity by Karen Forrest

Thanksgiving Activity - First we learned a song in the Children's song book (about being thankful) so we were able to pass off that requirement in the program... then we played some games that included listing our blessings. We played "hot potato"... whoever ended up with the ball when the music stopped had to say what they were thankful for 5 times really fast... and they could not repeat what had already been said. The second game is a little harder to explain, because I don't know the name of the original  game... you sit in a circle and keep a rhythm by slapping your legs and clapping your hands... in the original game I think you say something like you are going on a picnic and bringing along a "_______". Then the next person says the same thing, they are going on a picnic and bringing a "_______" and a "_________" (repeating all the foods in order that the people before them said, and also adding a new one to the list) ANYWAY we did that game substituting what we want for Thanksgiving dinner, and then AGAIN listing the things we are thankful for. It was kind of hard, but the girls thought it was fun.  For dessert we had chocolate chip pumpkin bread. (Idea by Vanessa in Arizona)
