Cleaning like crazy!

Service Scavenger Hunt (Click here to download this document)

I put together a cleaning/service scavenger hunt, where the girls would clean the church. I had a list of different things to do, i.e. Vacuum the chapel, mop the cultural hall, clean the toilets, etc. Each task was worth a certain amount of points, the harder the task the more points it was worth. The girls didn't know what each task was worth. They were split into 2 groups and they decided what they would do. I was so surprised, the girls had so much fun. They even scrubbed the toilets! When it was time to stop and go have refreshments, they didn't want to stop. While they had their little snack I added up each team's points and the winners got a little something extra, I gave them a candy bar. I wanted to have little clues in each room, like a real scavenger hunt, but didn't have time to do that, so I just did the points. I also thought you could tie it in with the Word of Wisdom, that it's important to keep ourselves clean, etc. Just a thought. I just wanted to share our activity. I know our church doesn't get cleaned as often as it should, so I thought it would be good.

As far as the download (see above), I didn't put anything about the kitchen, so you could always add that if you wanted to. The boxes beside each of the tasks are for a signature. I had planned for one leader to go with each group and sign off each thing that they did. I was the only one there last night and one group decided to split up and do different tasks, so they would just come and tell me what they did.
