Princess Theme
Idea by Carol Snider

We used a "Princess" theme for all of last year. Their notebooks became "Princess Diaries". We had each parent write a note to their princess on some rose paper and those were inserted in their "Diaries". On the cover, I was able to take a clipart of a jeweled tiara and digital pictures we took of the girls and put the tiaras on their heads. These were inserted into the slipcover on the outside of the notebook with their names. (It really made identifying leftover notebooks very easy!) In the notebooks we had a poem also that I acquired years ago.  For their awards we were able to make tiaras out of wire and beads. Their first 6 awards were little flowers that were hot  glued along the bottom (used to over where the wires crossed). The next 6 awards were jewels that we were able to hang from the loops on the tiara. After they earned all 12 awards, they earned a gigantic jewel (I found 4 of them for .99 cents at Hobby Lobby and then waited for all their beads to go on 1/2 price). This was ceremoniously displayed in the largest loop of their tiara (front and center). We just had our final awards ceremony closing out last year's awards a couple of weeks ago and the girls were just glowing in their finished tiaras.  It was a really fun year. When we introduced the theme for last year I did a presentation on the animated "Anastasia". In a nut shell, we are all like Anastasia, we are princesses we have just temporarily forgotten. It is our job to search out who we are (that we are Daughters of our Heavenly Father).
