Nerd Night

This was my favorite!  We sent snail mail invites, again.  Very cute and whimsical - inviting the girls and their Dad's to come dressed as nerds and in their best nerd 'attitude'.

Our activities were at different tables:

1.
To Tie or Knot to Tie:  Letting the Dad's teach their daughters how to tie a tie and practice on them.

2.
A Close Shave: Let the girls be blindfolded and shave their dad's with popsicle sticks.

3.
Brain Teasers:  A bunch of brain teasers for them to do.

4.
You Look Hairy Pretty, Tonight:  Let the dad's do the girls' hair - that was hilarious!

5.
Pick Your Nose: Across a doorway we hung a sheet that I had cut 'nose holes' in.  The Dad's and girls took turns going behind the sheet with a group of other dads and girls.  They removed their shoes and socks and stood so we could see their feet below and only their noses thru the holes.  They had to correctly identify their daughter/dad's nose and toes.

I took pictures with my digital camera of the couples in front of a hanging piece of fabric that said: "Nerds ROCK!" all over it.  Then, printed them off during the activity on my little photo printer and mounted them on pre-made cardstock frames.  So, they had a souvenir of that evening.  Then, we had root beer floats and cookies that all of us leaders brought.

The Dads were AMAZING sports and all of us leaders were crying!  We all came in our outfits, also and our nerdish attitudes.  It was truly a HUGE hit with everyone that was in the building that night - the talk at church on Sunday was all about our activity.  That is the sign of success! :)
