Goal Setting
Idea by Deanna Holdsworth

My assistant did a lesson about setting goals. She drew a soccer field on the chalk board and talked about making a goal while playing soccer. We then had the girls suggest different goals they could make and wrote them along the soccer field moving toward the goal posts. We then gave the girls a small notebook and had them write down a goal they wanted to make for themselves.  To show the girls they can make and accomplish goals we then played a word game. We spelled out "Activity Days" and had them make as many words as possible, using the letters in the words Activity Days, in two minutes. Before playing we had them state how many words they thought they could do, setting the goal. They loved this so we did it again using our City's name. We then made two teams and did a couple of relay races having the "goal" to finish the relay. I think the girls had fun and I was very happy with the out come of this activity.
