Help #LIGHTtheWORLD with Service Stars

December 1st is the official worldwide day of service. To kick things off, I thought I’d share my simple solution for encouraging service at home. I call them service stars. They’re quick, easy and pretty darn adorable. 🙂

MeckMom Service Star DIY for #LIGHTtheWORLD

I’ve never been much of an advent girl. We have three birthdays and a ton of family/school events throughout the month of December so I inevitably fall behind on any daily plan. I designed these service stars to help my family remember to #LIGHTtheWORLD this month without the pressure of daily projects. Watch the video below for all the details.

To make them, you’ll just need some paper, scissors and a hot glue gun. You can find the cute, little free fortune strip printable here on Sugardoodle by clicking here. This 5-min instruction video will give you all the tips and tricks to making your own set.

#LIGHTtheWORLD: Christmas-in-a-Box Free Printable Kit from Brightly Street

Christmas is a time to spread the love of our Savior and that is why we are helping spread the word about the mormon.org campaign called #LIGHTtheWORLD.  This is all about finding simple ways to serve others.  So Sugardoodle has teamed up with some amazing bloggers who have created free printable kits to help you spread kindness to those around you.

Melia at Brightly Street has come up with a Christmas in a Box kit for you to use.  This free printable kit can be sent to someone who is away for the holidays or can just cheer up a friend. It would be fun to make as family too.  Here is Melia with more info about her printables:

All of the instructions and printables are completely FREE to use, however you will not find them here on Sugardoodle.  Instead we have shared them with some fabulous LDS bloggers and site owners who have each taken these printables and used them in their own way.  You can find them by visiting the #LIGHTtheWORLD main page and clicking on one of the supporting site links.  This list is growing daily, so check back often!

The #LIGHTtheWORLD campaign continues throughout the whole month of December starting with a Worldwide Day of Service on Decebmer 1, 2016.  Isn’t it wonderful to know that so many others will be sharing the love of our Savior all around the world?  Be sure to join in by looking for little opportunities to help others.  Encourage others to join in by sharing these free printable kits and using the hashtag #LIGHTtheWORLD on social media.  Also, don’t forget to share the mormon.org video all about this uplifting initiative.

We are so grateful to Melia at Brightly Street for sharing her talents and creating these free printables!  Merry Christmas!

FREE 2017 Primary Printables: Choose the Right

Primary2017-BlogListing-01Hi friends,
Are we ready for this?!! 2017 curriculum has been announced and we have the printables READY for you!  I had such a great time making this kit for the primary theme, “Choose the Right.”   As I was in the starting phases of this kit, one of my favorite quotes from Elder Stevenson kept coming to my mind.  In his 2009 address, he said, “You are never lost when you can see the temple.”  I love that quote and knew that I wanted it portrayed in this printable kit.  When we come upon a choice to be made, if we are choosing to look towards the temple we truly will never be lost.  I hope you enjoy these printables as much as I enjoyed making them!

FREE printable – Father’s Day / Priesthood Power Gift

Hi friends,
Can you believe that summer is just around the corner?  Today was my little guy’s last day of preschool! If you are a planner like me, you might be looking ahead to the summer months and already starting to plan things out.
In June, the Come Follow Me curriculum is all about the priesthood, which is so fitting because Father’s Day is also in June.  I decided to make these fun printables that can be used as a gift to recognize and thank the men in our life for using priesthood power to bless our lives.

PoweradePic

Included in this kit are two different printables.  One is a bottle wrap to wrap around a bottle of Powerade.  The other is a tag that can be used to tie around a bottle of Powerade, or to use with any gift.  I also created these on 2 different sizes of paper, 11×17 (to be able to wrap around the entire bottle) and 8.5×11.  All the files are available here.

These printables also coordinate with the Come Follow Me lesson printables that are available here.

Heart,

Melanie B.
